Why recycle Plasterboard?

recyclingBy reycling plasterboard instead of landfilling we preserve our current landfill resources and save fossil fuels and land resources ordinarily used in the mining of virgin gypsum material.


For waste plasterboard to be recycled gypsum has to be separated from the paper and ground down to a powder. This process however uses a fraction of the energy taken to mine the virgin material from the earth.

 

 

Green Building Councils 6 Star green rating

Builders and developers who dispose of their plasterboard with plasterboard recyclers such as ecoGypsum are eligible for the Green Building Councils 6 Star green rating.
